佐原と、新しいゲストハウス　Sawara, nr. Tokyo and a Guesthouse newly opened there.

千葉県の佐原は、小野川を軸に古い町並みが保存されていて、

町歩きそのものが観光資源になっています。

Sawara Town in Chiba pref. near Tokyo has old townscape of Edo "SAMURAI" era.

It is popular place for day trip from Tokyo.

今回は、潮来から、この佐原に移動。

ここでも自転車ツアーができないかどうか、リサーチしました。

小野川沿いの道を自転車でゆっくり走ってみた動画がこちらです。

I moved to there from Itako,

and researched possible cycling routes.

The movie below was taken along Onogawa river.

江戸時代、利根川の舟運で江戸とつながれていた佐原には、

江戸で流行していた最先端の物品が運び込まれ、「小江戸」とも呼ばれていました。

（こちらは「佐原町並み交流館」の中にあったミニチュアモデルです）

In Edo era, they had boat services between Sawara and Edo (former name of Tokyo).

They called this town "Ko Edo", means small Edo, at that time because people there were able to enjoy similar things what happened in Edo.

周囲は水郷地帯、水路が張り巡らされていて、

潮来同様、舟が車の役割を果たしていた時代もありました。

You can find canal network systems around Sawara.

They previously used to use boats rather than cars.

利根川沿いには、大きな道の駅があり、農産物を買い求めるお客さんで大賑わいです。

There is a huge farmers' market in Sawara,

which has a lot of visitors.

屋外では、フリーマーケットも。

I found a flee market outside.

レストランはフードコート方式で、数種類の店から選べます。

特に佐原名産ではないですが、500円程度と格安。

In the market, there is a food court, which has several restaurant.

You can eat  cheap menus around 500JPY.

私は、カレーうどんをチョイスしました。

I ate a curry noodle there.

住宅地の路地を走り回っていたら、喫茶店を発見。

イギリスっぽいコンサーバトリー（温室）が見事な「サリ」という店でした。

I drank a cup of coffee at cafe "Sali" in residential area,

which has a lovely English-like conservatory.

オーナーの女性と話をしながら、最近の佐原事情を聞きつつ、コーヒーをいただきました。

ちなみにここ、B&B（宿）もやっているとのこと。

I enjoyed conversation with a lady who runs this cafe.

It has B&B as well. Of course you can stay there.

私が佐原で宿泊したのは、最近オープンしたこちらの宿、

Hostel Co-Edo。

I stayed at Hostel Co-Edo, recently opened in Sawara.

ドミトリー基本のゲストハウスで、

元はレストランだった建物をリノベーションしたものだそうです。

It used to be an restaurant,

converted to a guesthouse with dorms.

ベッドルームは4人。

A bed room has 4 beds.

飲食提供はありませんが、キッチンが大きく、

材料さえあれば、本格的な調理もできそうです。

They have neither restaurants nor cafe,

but they have a big kitchen with good equipment and utensils.

この宿などをベースにして、

佐原でも自転車ツアーが企画、催行できればいいなと考えております。

Interesting cycling tours can be made in Sawara in the future,

with staying this guesthouse.
